Oswaldtwistle Mills – Home of ‘The Ironman’

Congratulations to long term client Martin Garnett on completing ‘Ironman UK 2018’ on 15 July in Bolton.

Martin, of Team MGPT (Martin Garnett Personal Training), completed the 2.4 mile swim, 95 mile cycle and 26.2 mile run in the impressive time of 10 hours 37 minutes and 54 seconds. Finishing 240th from 1,808 competitors.

Well done Martin from everyone at the Business & Conference Centre.

Oswaldtwistle Mills Join the Friends of Accrington Stanley Community Trust Scheme

Oswaldtwistle Mills are the latest organisation to join the ‘Friends of Accrington Stanley’ scheme aimed at getting local businesses involved with supporting the charity.

The ‘Friends of Accrington Stanley Community Trust’ scheme provides an ideal way for local businesses to engage its corporate social responsibility by supporting an organisation that improves health, social inclusion levels, as well as delivering sport and education programmes to over 15,000 local people.

Philip Woodford, Oswaldtwistle Mills Business & Conference Centre Co-ordinator (pictured) said “Accrington Stanley Community Trust have been a tenant at our business centre for the last 6 years. We have seen at first hand all the work they are doing with local community engagement projects with all the contacts they bring through our centre.  We are delighted to become a friend of Accrington Stanley Community Trust and are very happy to help support the great work that the Trust are doing in Hyndburn. We are proud to do our bit to support such a worthwhile cause.’’

By donating or fundraising £1,000 to Accrington Stanley Community Trust, organisations or individuals will receive a variety of benefits such as use of the ‘Friends of ASCT’ logo and advertising benefits such as social media coverage, website links and match day programme exposure.

Tenant Profile – Education Business Partnership (NW) Ltd

 

Education Business Partnership (NW), also known as EBPNW, was set up in 2015 to support young people to improve their employment prospects whilst developing essential life skills.  They provide work experience and mentoring type support services to local high schools and adult learning providers across Lancashire.

 

The team moved into Oswaldtwistle Mills Business and Conference Centre in January 2016.

“As a new start-up business, we were keen to move into offices that offered value for money and were centrally located with easy access to the motorway” said Tracy Gardiner, Director.

“The staff at the business centre are always really helpful and friendly and we quite often make use of the recently refurbished meeting facilities” explained Tracy.

EBPNW work with a wide variety of employers and businesses across Lancashire who help support young people through their work experience programmes.  Tracy added “We are always looking for new and exciting placement opportunities and would encourage any businesses who are interested to get in touch”.

Endorsed by Fair Train, EBPNW are the only organisation in Lancashire to hold the Government backed Work Experience Quality Award and are also members of Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary and the Federation of Small Businesses.

NDORS now at the Business & Conference Centre

The Business & Conference Centre have secured a 12-month contract as host of the NDORS driving courses for 2017, which started in January.

NDORS is a scheme unique to the UK and covers courses such as ‘Speed Awareness’, ‘Driver Alertness’, ‘What’s Driving Us’ & ‘Driving 4 Change’ – all being delivered from Oswaldtwistle Mills.

Courses are being held here at least twice a week and are using our Moscow Suite and Three Brooks Room on each occasion.

Due to the increased demand in conferencing facilities, we have extended our car park to accommodate an additional 16 vehicles.  We now have FREE parking facilities for approximately 100 vehicles directly outside Clifton Mill, as well as an overflow car park just next door on Moscow Mill Street.

If you are attending any of these courses, please come to Clifton Mill and not our Shopping Village.
